Tournament Rules
At the end of the season, we will try to put together an in house tournament if enough teams in a division are interested.
In 6u, this is a single elimination tournament. In all other age divisions, this is a double elimination tournament. Silver brackets may be single elimination.
Teams are seeded off the play during the regular season.
The higher seeded team in the
winner's bracket is the home team. In the
consolation bracket, teams will flip a coin during the umpire coaches meeting before the game to determine the home/away team.
If the team from the consolation bracket beats the team in the winner's bracket in the championship, they will then be the home team in the "If Necessary" game.
Championship games are not put on a time limit (unless agreed on by the coaches to use a time limit). Championship games end when the last inning is completed or a run rule has been met.
In 10u and 12u baseball, umpires will keep up with each pitcher's pitch count. Going over the allowed pitch count will result in a forfeit. Pitch counts rules are found here:
Pitch Count RulesIf rain impacts the tournament, the Board may decide the tournament will be moved to a single elimination tournament. This is to help get the tournament completed on time.
If rain impacts a game -- Games are consider a complete game once the game enters the 4th inning (3 1/2 if the home team is leading). In most scenarios, we will try to resume the game. If it is deemed that the game is final to help complete the tournament on time. The game will revert back to the previous completed inning if the away team is winning. If the home team is winning then the game will end as is.
